Human brain is filled with imagination, more of which may be considered not possible. Yet, imagination is the thing which is capable of shaping up the world we are living in and the reality. But the current reality in which we live in has people sick of “Learned Helplessness” because we are conditioned to live in the world with no hope which makes it easy enough to accept the reality to be positive for us. We settle for what we get and we never incline towards what future possibilities can unlock for us. We settle for the world which we are in because of our own assumption of things and hobbies. But very few people consider todays possibilities to be far greater. The Question still remains, what can future look like?.
Truth to be accepted, we humans are so conditioned overtime that we create the boundaries ourselves. On the other hand, we face with the restrictions which don’t let us do anything more than what the top 1% Of the 1% of the people might benefit from it. The restrictions are indirectly put on our imagination and we are conditioned to stay in the state of ‘Learned Helplessness’.
It’s time to come out of the boundaries and the restrictions. It’s a challenge to the old system. If you know what you want and you want it badly enough, you’ll find a way to get it, and thats how the world is supposed to work. We can admit the fact that we hear these words everyday, “Blockchain, Cryptocurrency, Decentralization & Electronic Democracy” and we are told to stay away from it because the smartest reasoning the control freaks can give is that we don’t understand these technologies. Isn’t it? But ironically, control freaks are smart enough to understand these technologies.
A very famous proverb encapsulates the definition of democracy,
“A government of the people, by the people and for the people.” – Abraham Lincoln
The world is filled with authoritarianism, monarchy, democracy and all of them predate our culture. But among the rest, democracy is considered more humane, but in-fact, it is not what it appears to be in real life. Democracy is a system of self government in which every happening in the country is the amalgamation of decisions of every individual living in that territory. In ancient Polish, with a population of 5000 people, approximately 15% of them were considered citizens. But in those days, the democracy was direct, each citizen could come up to the city square and propose his own bill and all the other citizens would have to vote in favour or against the bill. The proposer would get the chance of explaining his perspective and if the citizens would agree, the Bill would be passed. It was the perfect example of democracy.
The concept got flawed when democracy became representative, which is shaping up the world we live in today. Elections happen and we have the power to elect our representatives as senators believing that they would represent us and make the changes in our favour. But what does the representative democracy look like? Another question to bolster the contemporary scenario is to ask yourself how many times you read the news of scams happening by the same people we elect to represent us. Do we remember the last time our representative voiced our opinions about taxes, army, healthcare or the priorities of the country’s development? Instead, we hear scandals connected with corruption, business lobbying and what not.
The foundation of the Monetary Policy which our countries live on is backed by corruption, made by corruption. The concept of democracy has become the servant of big businesses and its apogee.
The problem lies in centralization. Every single time we took a step towards centralization, we started strangling ourselves by electing the representatives who would get corrupted by power and then try to control us for what they would benefit from.
To get back to the state where we would be practicing an absolute democracy, voicing our opinions, where we made our voice heard, decentralization is the option. Blockchain has the solution to everything that is wrong with the world. The emergence of this technology changed everything and has given us hope for a better world where we would be happy. This technology protects your data and provides the level of freedom which were previously not available.
Using paper ballots to fake votes is easier than voting via blockchain. The immutable and untampered characteristics of blockchain scares the ones in power, because they don’t want to lose their power on any condition
So the world has been divided into those people consisting of inventors and discoverers who seek to use this technology for the greater good of the humanity by providing the power to the citizens and then there are those who write fake information on wikipedia and ban the technology for any further use.
