In a press release, Ethereum foundation has announced the fourth wave of grants to 20 different persons and entities.
According to the press release, the total amount of grants is over $3 million. While the grants were not equally divided, the biggest grant of worth $500,000 was given to Prysmatic Labs and Status. Both these companies are working on to develop Ethereum 2.0 ecosystem which was announced in November last year.
The fraction of grants were divided basing on the manner in which the person or entity contributed to the development of network, such as security, usability, scalability, hackterships and #BUIDL.
Under this category, Spankchain, Prototypal, Finality Labs, Kyokan, Atomic Cross-Chain Transactions, EthSnarks received grants ranging from $420K to $40K
Adult entertainment platform Spankchain received second highest amount of grant of about $420,000. Spankchain is working on open-source software developer kit(SDK) for non-custodial payment channel hub. Prototypal received $375k for front-end state channel research and development. Finality labs received grant of $250K for development of Forward-Time Locked Contracts(FLTC).
Flintstones is the only entity that could make to win grant under security of about $120K. The entity worked on further development of Flint language including a security focused IDE by Susan Eisenbach of Imperial College London.
The grants ranged from $120K to $25K under this category and the recipients are TrueBlocks, Gitcoin, VulcanizeDB, Bulder, Ethdoc, Ethers.js, Kauri. TrueBlock won $120K grant for working on open source block explorer and Gitcoin earned $100K for funding bounties on Gitcoin.
Magic Money Tree(Dark Crystal) is the only recipient in this set. It earned grant for working on a tool for securely storing and recovering keys and secrets through a multisig design by the Secure Scuttlebutt Team.
In the press release, Ethereum Foundation also mentioned its wishlist and opened applications for Wave V.
