Blockchain is now tagged as future technology. With endless possibilities and applications, blockchain technology is largely acclaimed around the world. This breakthrough technology is still not well positioned in Egypt. Codeaku is the first blockchain school established in Egypt to raise awareness of Blockchain technology and bring coding to everybody in Egypt.
Hassan Ali, the founder of Codeaku told Egypt Today:
“Codeaku is simply a coding school. We believe in the power of coding and this is why we have built our programs to serve non-techies before techies. We aim at empowering all skilled Egyptian youth not just to land a decent or high paying job but to build a better country and a better economy, cause only through technology can we do that”
Hassan Ali also expressed that his experience on learning code had inspired to build the first Blockchain school in Egypt. He aims to acquaint Egyptians with emerging techs coding through this offline school.
Moreover, Codeaku got accepted out of 15,000 applied startups by Y Combinator Startup School. Y Combinator is the Silicon Valley- based accelerator behind Airbnb and Dropbox. They signed contract with Government Blockchain Association and started a Local Chapter in Cairo. To raise the awareness of emerging technology, Codeaku started a series of meetups with IBM and WUZZUF.
According to World Economic Forum’s report published in September 2015, 10% of global GDP will be stored in blockchain technology by 2025.
Ali said that he decided to start his own startup because he had faced the problems so many others were facing. Besides, he advised entrepreneurs to start entrepreneurship ecosystem in Egypt.
