Google will be restarting the allowance of cryptocurrency ads for some of the regulated cryptocurrency exchanges in the United States and Japan starting from October. This decision comes four months after the previous Cryptocurrency ads ban had been instituted.
Google being Comfortable:
The search engine giant Google has revealed that It’ll be loosening up in the Cryptocurrency ad ban which was instituted on 1st June, 2018.
The main reason for the Ads ban by Google previously was the consumer’s safety. Speaking on the matter, Scott Spencer, Google’s Director of Product Management, Sustainable ads, who said:
“We don’t have a crystal ball to know where the future is going to go with cryptocurrencies, but we’ve seen enough consumer harm or potential for consumer harm that it’s an area that we want to approach with extreme caution.”
Google wasn’t the only company to ban the cryptocurrency ads, Social media giant, Facebook adopted a similar policy about the cryptocurrency ads. The latter didn’t last much, though as Faccbook renounced their ban just after a few months later, allowing pre-approved advertisers to promote cryptocurrency campaigns once again.
Now four months later Google is doing the same. They are partially lifting up the ban by allowing certain cryptocurrencies to put up their ads.
“Regulated Cryptocurrency Exchanges” gets the green light:
According to the official statement, Google’s updated policy will allow regulated cryptocurrency exchanges to advertise in United States and Japan.
“The Google Ads policy on Financial products and services will be updated in October 2018 to allow regulated cryptocurrency exchanges to advertise in the United States and Japan. – Reads the announcement.”
Its also important according to the policy that the advertisers has to be Google Certified for their ads to be displayed in certain countries.
